History isn’t thaaat boring

WARNING: the following report may cause procrastination and result in endless hours spent by watching 85,000 short films.

Pathè News began in the late 1890’s in Paris, France–swiftly becoming a pioneer of the film industry.  Pathè began as a biweekly display of cinema in the form of documentaries, newsreels, serials and films. Last month, these videos were released to the public on Youtube as “part of a drive to make the archive more accessible to viewers all over the world” (source). Youtube channel: British Pathé, consists of a series of 85,000 of these newsreels recorded from the 1890’s to the 1970’s. According to the channel’s description it  caught “every aspect of global culture and news, for the cinema” (source).  So put away your history homework and watch some youtube videos instead….

Smoking during class???? Could you imagine your desk neighbor lighting up in class?? (it’s occasional at SBHS…but still.)

Just in case you were wondering, this is what it’s like to be a playboy bunny.

Before handles and beer pong (yes, it’s silent).

How many of you can say you took your pet leopard for a walk? Yeah. That’s what I thought.
